Part of the reason for the extreme thirst of kundalini awakening and detoxing are the acids and toxins being released during metamorphosis of the tissues, and the extra free radicals produced during heightened metabolism in the mitochondria. These free radicals create oxidation and inflammation which need to constantly be cooled and quenched with antioxidant substances, and the best way to do that is with sun teas, and cold drinks. There are probably some thirst quenching herbs and fruits you can add to water:…Angelica, Lemon, Kumquat, Lime leaves, Quince or Cucumber slices, Ginger root, Galangal, Triphala, Fresh Aloe gel, fresh Coconut water, Mulberry leaves, Raspberry leaves, Catnip, Peppermint, Mint, Rosemary, Nettle and edible flowers of all types.
Making sun tea from the shoots of pinetrees and then chilling it makes for a very thirst quenching drink. Silicon water (as in Philosopher’s water) is more hydrating than regular water. The goop from sprouting buckwheat has a hydrophilic relationship with water. Avoid all commercially made juices and drinks however as they are likely to contain sugar, and even if they don’t they are dead. The more fresh and living your water is the better it quenches…ie: fresh glacial, spring, or rain water or the structured water from watermelons and catalopes. A pinch of sea or Himalayan salt increases the hydrating capacity of water. Vortex’ed, Shungite charged, or Hydrogenated water is also more assimilable and effective.
